"From Our Farm to your Family"
Winchester Ridge Farms is situated on the Camas Prairie between the Salmon and Clearwater Rivers. Winchester was once a logging and mill community, known for harvesting some of the largest yellow pine in Idaho. Today, it is an area where Barley, Wheat, and Grass Hay are grown. The cut over timber soil of the Winchester area supports nutrient-rich grasses and forbs that sheep and cattle graze on during the summer. By utilizing timber pastures along with rotational cover crops on farm grounds, the American White Face lambs produced here have a mild yet flavorful taste. Cattle have been present on this farm since Eric's great-grandfather harvested the timber. The Lo-line Angus cattle are efficient in gaining weight on timber pastures, and their meat is tender and tasty.
Eric and Sheila ensure that their animals are fed and fattened on products grown on this farm, including Hay, Oats, Peas, and Barley. They also maintain a robust mineral program to keep their animals healthy and produce nutritious meat.
"As farmers, we take pride in knowing our animals from birth to death, ensuring that everything that goes into them creates a healthy, nutritious product. From our farm to your fork." - Eric and Sheila, Winchester Ridge Farms
